ABOUT ME
Some of my earliest memories as a child were camping holidays in France with my family. My dad introduced me to sea glass. At the time he used to call them “pure green, pure white or pure blue” my dad and I used to spend hours walking the beaches looking for them. We would take them home and put them in glass jars that lined the windowsills.
We had hundreds, maybe even thousands of pieces!
Now I spend most weekends walking the Jurassic coast with my family doing exactly the same. We call it “pirate treasure” my daughter Bella is really good at spotting it so, like when I was a child, we have bucket loads of sea glass in glass containers lining our windowsills.
I have always loved jewellery. I’m crafty and enjoy art so combining these two feels so natural.
Now my kids are a little bit older I’ve had time to do a silversmithing course at Bournemouth arts university, and so, my sea glass jewellery journey begins.
As much as I love sea glass I also love anything shiny or sparkly, so I also use responsibly sourced gems in the jewellery I make.
I use recycled 925 Sterling silver and fine silver. It’s not a legal requirement to hallmark pieces that weigh less than 7.78 grams, so if your piece isn’t hallmarked, rest assured it’s still sterling silver and not silver plated.
